Academic Policies
Our academic policies ensure a structured, fair, and conducive learning environment. Familiarize yourself with these guidelines to navigate your academic journey successfully.
Admission Requirement
Students seeking admission must possess a minimum of five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings. Additional subject requirements vary by program.
Academic Calendar
Our academic year consists of two semesters, each lasting 16-18 weeks. The first semester typically runs from September to February, while the second semester runs from March to July, with breaks in December and August.
Attendance Policy
Students are required to maintain at least 75% attendance in all courses. Failure to meet this requirement may result in disqualification from examinations. Medical absences require proper documentation.
Examination Guidelines
Examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. Students must register for exams, clear all fees, and meet attendance requirements. Malpractice is strictly prohibited and can result in expulsion.
Grading System
GAPOSA employs a 4-point grading system:
A (70–100%) = 4.0
B (60–69%) = 3.0
C (50–59%) = 2.0
D (45–49%) = 1.0
F (0–44%) = 0.0
A minimum CGPA of 1.0 is required to avoid probation.
Student Code of Conduct
All students are expected to conduct themselves with dignity, respect, and honesty. Prohibited behaviors include academic dishonesty, harassment, theft, vandalism, and disorderly conduct. Violations are subject to disciplinary action.
